The MSN Circuit Rally Championship (MNCRC) in association with MSVR, featuring the Michelin Cup and the Protyre Challenge is delighted to announce that both Cadwell Park rounds have been rearranged for a spectacular double header in April 2021.
The Cadwell Park rounds of the Championship will take place on consecutive days over the first weekend in April, with the rallies counting as Rounds of the 2020-21 Championship.
The Cirrus Research Stages was originally postponed from 21st November 2020, but following a second UK lockdown, saw its date revised to Sunday April 4th, 2021.
Furthermore, Border Motor Club’s Alan Healy Memorial Stages, which was recently postponed from its original date 31 January has been rearranged for Saturday April 3rd, 2021.
This means that in a first for the Championship, the MNCRC will feature a double-header, with a feast of rallying action expected to take place at Cadwell Park over the Easter weekend.
The events will run in accordance with government and governing body guidance at the time.
Darren Spann, Championship co-ordinator, enthused; “I am delighted to confirm that MNCRC, Cadwell Park and MSV have reached an agreement in principle to host two rounds of the MNCRC.
However, these rounds will be subject to Motorsport UK approval, as our priority is the safety of all involved and strict compliance with Covid-19 regulations.
I would like to thank all our sponsors, competitors and fans who have been so supportive throughout this and to assure them we are determined to do all we can to get the MNCRC to an eight-round championship this season.”
Championship organisers are still discussing dates for the other events that have been postponed – The Neil Howard Stages at Oulton Park, and the Brands Hatch Stages at Brands Hatch.
Further updates will be provided once other events have been rescheduled. Organisers still fully intend to stage all eight rounds as per the original 2020-21 schedule.
