I hope you are well? I would like to invite you to come and help us on this year’s Roger Albert Clark (RAC) Rally.
This year, the RAC, which I presume you know already, has made a complete change to previous year’s events with a five day route starting in Leominster on Thursday 21st November and finishing at Kielder Water on Monday 25th November. The route goes through Mid-Wales on Thursday and Friday before traveling up north to Carlisle. On Saturday it goes around the famous Kielder forest before returning to Carlisle for an overnight halt. Sunday sees the event moving further north to the Scottish Borders using the famous stages Greskine, Forest of Ae, Twiglees, Castle Ore and Craik. All the Sunday stages, like most of the rest of the stages run twice, except Craik which is run once. Monday stages return to different areas around Kielder Water.
We have been given the Greskine stage (SS19&21) to run this year. Some of you may know this stage, as the first half of the stage has been run on the RSAC Scottish Rally being called Mount Joe and the other way in full on the 2018 RSAC Scottish Rally. So if you would like to come and help us? The stage is about 11.20 miles long with 21 junctions to cover so we need marshals, radio crews (81 “C “ System operator's). As I have said we will be running twice on Sunday FCD SS19 at 09.04 and SS21 Greskine 2 at 12.36, with the length of the stage and safety car schedules we are looking at signing on from 06.30 to 07.30 at the start. The stage is situated off the (A74(m) Moffatt and Beattock junction (Junction 15), you will then follow the B7076 for about 2 miles. Entry to the stage is on the left under a railway bridge ref OS 78/NT 039 086 and will be arrowed. Please don't take the first arrowed entry into the stage as this is the Spectators entrance.
It’s looking like the rally has a great entry, I think it has a maximum entry, see the event website for more details http://racrmc.org/roger-albert-clark-rally/index .
So if you are available and want to come and help us please can you let me know ianevans737@btinternet.com or telephone 07899 045006 mobile or 01246 863507 home. When you contact me please can you let me know what you would like to do and how many you think may be in your team or is it just yourself?? Can you also let me know if you are a Registered Marshal with Motorsport UK. If you are not currently registered with Motorsport UK, then simply register online via the Motorsport UK members’ site at members.msauk.org. then follow the links to the learning management system and proceed. This way when I allocate marshals it will help me a lot with the Motorsport UK requirements. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you need any more information .
If you would like to help on other days please drop the Event Staffing Officer, Joy Hewson, an email joyhewson@googlemail.com, she would be very grateful of your support.
Thank you for reading this email and hopefully your support.
Kind Regards Ian Evans
