Carmarthen Motor Club have unveiled plans to hold a Rally Time Trial at the iconic Walter’s Arena complex in South Wales.
The event is scheduled for Sunday 13th September and will follow Motorsport UK’s Getting Back on Track guidelines along with all Welsh Government regulations.
A maximum of 40 competitors will complete six runs of a four mile route, three in each direction, including the lake section of the famous Wales Rally GB stage. Result will be determined by the aggregate of competitors’ best times in each direction.
Current plans are that this will be a driver only event but the Club are planning to keep this under review in the light of both Motorsport UK and Welsh Government regulations
Confirming the club’s plans, Clerk of the Course Mike Griffiths commented, “We are excited about being able to make a return to competitive motor sport and the emphasis will be on making it an enjoyable day for everyone concerned.” Mike added, “The team at Walter’s Arena are being hugely supportive, helping us to put together a flowing four mile route that will challenge competitors but be fun to drive.”
Competitors with their own self contained facilities will be able to stay at the venue overnight either camping or in caravans and motor homes.
Entries will open with the publication of regulation shortly. You can keep up to date by following the Carmarthen Motor Club Facebook page.
